Visit to Boston

The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Social Integration met with a range of councillors, community organisations and local residents in Boston as part of its inquiry into the integration of immigrants. The evidence from the visits informed the inquiry’s final report, titled ‘Integration not Demonisation’.

The APPG’s Chair, Chuka Umunna MP, was joined by Matt Warman, Vice-Chair of the APPG and MP for Boston and Skegness. The visit began with a meeting with councillors, council officers and community leaders, before progressing to a discussion with over-65s from the local Age UK and U3A groups. Following this, the APPG met with four police cadets and young people from Boston Youth Council, before concluding the visit with a discussion alongside representatives from Boston College, Lincolnshire Police, Churches Together, and the Chair of the Latvian Community in Boston.
